Pinson Valley Nips Holly Springs 79-76 at Hoops Classic (w/PHOTO)

Holly Springs missed a 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer as Pinson Valley held on for a 79-76 victory Saturday in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic in Princeton.

Kam Woods scored 31 points for the Pinson Valley (Ala.) Indians, who pulled out a last-second victory for the second-straight day.

The game was close all the way, with Pinson Valley (14-3) putting up 31 points in the second quarter and leading 46-40 at halftime.

Holly Springs (12-4) trailed 59-56 entering the fourth quarter.

JoJo James added 20 points for Pinson Valley and Kool Aid McKinstry added 19.

For the Holly Springs Hawks, Derek Fountain had 23 points and Cori Bell added 22.

McKinstry was named MVP for Pinson Valley while Bell was MVP for Holly Springs.

Both teams were making their first appearances in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic.
