With a smile that can light up a gym and the game to match, Aaliyah Hampton’s presence has been missed by the Christian County Lady Colonels and the rest of the 2nd Region this season. After a senior season in which she earned All-District and All-Region honors while averaging 18.3 points per game and helping the Lady Colonels to a second-straight 8th-District title, Hampton moved on to play at NCAA D3 Berea College in Berea, Kentucky.
Hampton hasn’t missed a beat as a freshman, starting 10 of 11 games while leading the Mountaineers in points (21.4), minutes (30.5), field goal percentage (47.9%), assists (2.5) and steals (2.5).
Berea enters the New Year on a four-game win streak and boasts a 9-2 record, including a 3-0 mark in the USA South Conference. The Mountaineers will return to action on January 3 when they host Asbury University.
