Caldwell’s Girls Win on Buzzer-Beater at Paducah Tilghman

Bella McConnell scored 20 of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter, and Majah Hollowell hit the game-winner at the buzzer as Caldwell County’s girls escaped with a 69-68 victory Friday night at Paducah Tilghman.

The Lady Tornado led 51-38 through three quarters before the Lady Tigers rallied for their second win in as many nights.

Tilghman (4-8) went up 29-25 at halftime before extending the margin to 13 points through three quarters.

But Caldwell (6-5) put up 31 points in the final frame — despite playing without leading scorer Jacey Jaggers.

Jaggers, who poured in 30 points in the Lady Tigers’ win at Dawson Springs on Thursday, was injured in the first quarter in Paducah and did not play the rest of the way. She finished with five points.

McConnell, who did not score in the first half, added eight rebounds to her 22 points. Jada Boyd, who threw the ball up the court to Hollowell for the game-winning shot, added 14 points while Hollowell tallied 13 points and eight rebounds. Karsyn Parker had nine points and eight boards for the Lady Tigers.

Jaaliyah Biggers led Tilghman with 19 points. Diamond Gray had 16 and Eleese Anderson 11.
