
It was not exactly the way that Todd County Central Lady Rebels wanted the New Year to start. The Lady Rebels were held to under 10 points in each quarter Friday night as they went on the road and dropped their 8th consecutive game, falling to Logan County 57-23 in a 13th District matchup.
The Lady Cougars came roaring out of the gate and never looked back. Behind the play of Gracie Christian and Kennedy Nichols, Logan County jumped out to 15-8 lead after the opening quarter.
The Lady Cougars then effectively put the game away in the 2nd quarter. Addie White and Peyton Vanzant combined to knock down five 3-pointers in the quarter, as Logan County blew the lead open to 39-14 at the half.
In the third quarter, the Lady Cougar defense limited Todd Central to one field goal and three free throws. In the meantime, their offense put up 13 more points as the lead ballooned out to 52-19.
Reserves saw most of the action in the final quarter for Logan County as they pushed it on out to the final margin of 34 points.
The Lady Rebels were led by Shelby Johnson with 8 points. Emoni Fort added five, while Emma Harris scored four, all coming from the free throw line.
Logan County’s leading scorer was Addie White, who finished with 17 points. Paige Vanzant added 13 for the Lady Cougars.
With the loss, Todd County Central drops to 1-9 on the season, while Logan County improves to 6-6.
