
The University Heights Academy girls’ basketball team slipped to its third-straight defeat Friday night, dropping a road matchup with Union County 47-39.
Mati Hagan powered the Lady Braves to an early lead with 7 first-quarter points and they held a 3-point edge after one. Union’s Raelle Beaven picked up the scoring slack in the second with 6 points, while the Lady Braves held UHA to only 4 points to build a 27-14 cushion at the half.
The Lady Blazers’ Lily Hendricks scored 10 of her team-high 14 in the second half, but the Union lead was still double figures with a quarter to play. UHA’s Aniah Dailey chipped in 4 in the fourth, but the Lady Braves held on to snap a three-game losing skid.
