Caldwell County High School had two wrestlers place in the Johnny Drennan ‘85 Memorial Wrestling Tournament at Father Ryan High School in Nashville on Saturday.
Dylan Walls was third in the 126-pound weight class while Riley Johnson placed fourth at 113 pounds.
Walls went 6-1 in his class, including a pin in 2:42 in the third-place match.
At 113, Johnson went 5-2, reaching the third-place match before dropping a narrow 5-4 decision to finish fourth.
In other action for the Tiger matmen, Collin Teutsch went 3-2 at 106 pounds. Cofy Harris was 2-2 at 120.
Blaine Hicks finished 4-2 at 132 pounds. Ethan Newsom was 1-2 in 138.
Colin Walls went 1-2 at 152 pounds. John Paredes was 1-2 at 160.
Sam Teutsch dropped a pair of matches at 182. Preston Rogers was 1-2 at 220.
Caldwell County finished 15th in the team standings, out of 52 teams in the Father Ryan Invitational.
Union County won the tournament with Cleveland, Tenn. second. Christian County finished fourth.
Caldwell’s wrestlers are in action again this Saturday at Hendersonville, Tenn.
