In mid-December the Fort Campbell boys’ basketball team was riding high with a 5-1 record ahead of a matchup with UHA, but after Monday night’s 66-53 loss to hosts Dawson Springs, the Falcons have now dropped seven-straight with a visit from Pleasant View Christian, TN on Tuesday. The Panthers are recently removed from a four-game skid, but the win is their second-straight to start the new year.
Braxton Cotton got off to a quick start with 9 points and the Panthers led 18-13 despite 6 from Jeremiah Holley for the Falcons. The teams battled back and forth in the second quarter, with Landon Pace chipping in 5 points to help Dawson Springs to a 6-point halftime edge.
Cameron Pratt led the Falcons out of the locker room with 7 third-quarter points, but Dylan Dawson scored 8 of his team-high 20 to keep the Panthers on top.
Looking to lead a Falcon comeback, Pratt and Aaron Hall combined for 11 over the final eight minutes, but Dawson Springs got 7 more from Dawson to secure the victory.
Fort Campbell struggled shooting the ball, finishing 20-60 for 33%, including a frigid 2-14 from 3-point land. The Panthers hit for 50% from the floor, while also winning the war on the boards 36-27.
