Bethel Christian closed the game on a 22-9 run, and that was enough to send the Flames past Heritage Christian Academy 56-42 in KCAA action at Warrior Gym Tuesday.
The Warriors didn’t have an answer for Bethel senior Frank Pangilinan, who scored 27 points in the final three quarters for the Breckinridge County school.
Heritage was down only by three points heading into the fourth quarter, but that’s when Pangilinan scored 12 of his points.
Derek Wadlington led Heritage with 10 points and nine rebounds. Elijah Britton was 8-of-8 at the free throw line to finish with 10 points and five assists.
Bethel, who is ranked No. 4 in this week’s KCAA Power Poll, is now 6-1 in KCAA play and 3-0 in Region 1. HCA drops to 0-3 in region play and 0-7 in KCAA play.
HCA will host Somerset Christian Saturday for homecoming.
