The Christian County Colonels continue to try and get their footing rolling into the second half of the season. The Colonels hit the road Friday night to Bowling Green to take on the South Warren Spartans. The game was a battle throughout, but the Spartans managed to do enough to pull out the 57-50 win.

Defensive play was the story of the first half. The Spartans limited Christian County to just 19 points over the first two quarters as South Warren took a 24-19 lead into the locker room at the break.

Christian County fought to stay in the game in the third quarter. The Colonels were able to trim the Spartans’ lead to just four headed into the final quarter at 43-39.

However, the Colonels could not quite get over the hump in the final eight minutes of the game. South Warren was able to hold Christian County at bay downt the stretch and pick up the seven point win.

The loss drops Christian County to 6-11 on the season, while South Warren improves to 11-6.

The win was the 500th in the coaching career of Spartans’ head coach Blaine Embry.
