Caldwell County’s wrestling team took first place at the Calloway County Invitational Saturday, putting two wrestlers on the first place podium.
Collin Teutsch, the No. 8 wrester statewide in his weight division, won the 106-pound class by going 4-0 in round-robin competition.
Riley Johnson, ranked 10th statewide, finished first at 113, defeating all three wrestlers in his pool.
Dylan Walls, who is ranked No. 3 in his weight division, finished second in the 126-pound class, losing to North Hardin’s Braedon Herron in the championship. Herron is ranked 7th in the state.
Ethan Newsome took second in the 138-pound class. His only loss was to Ohio County’s Gaige Clark, who is ranked 15th statewide.
Colin Walls was second at 152 with a 3-1 record on the day. His lone loss was to Kenwood’s Derrick Bannister.
Blaine Hicks finished third in the 132-pound class with a 4-1 record on the day.
John Paredes was third at 160 with a 3-1 record, while Sam Teutsch finished fourth at 182.
