Christian County has turned to a coach with club experience to be the next head coach of the Lady Colonel soccer team. Hannah Ambrose was introduced as the next soccer coach Wednesday afternoon at the school.
She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she played club soccer. She has coached club soccer in North Carolina and most recently coached five years in Alabama. Her husband is stationed at Fort Campbell.
Before Wednesday’s media conference, Ambrose met with nearly two-dozen current and prospective Lady Colonel players and told them she looks to implement some form of off-season training program.
Ambrose will inherit a young but experienced Lady Colonel team that suffered through an abundance of injuries to post to 4-15-1 record in 2019. However, she is scheduled to return the teams top six scorers from last season.
The Lady Colonel soccer program was left in good shape following the November resignation of Shannon Carter after three seasons as head coach. Carter was 19-37-4 in those seasons and guided the Lady Colonels to the 2018 region tournament – their first regional tournament appearance in six years.
