Christian County infielder Layton Stallons signed to continue his baseball career in college at Brescia University Friday.
Stallons was a Swiss Army knife for Colonel Coach Trey Wheeler. He played several defensive positions for the Colonels and had a .352 on base percentage. Stallons also picked up two wins on the mound in 2019 and led the Colonel pitching staff with two saves.
Brescia is an NAIA school in Owensboro that competes in the River States Conference. Former Colonel Eric Silvy is a freshman on the Bearcat roster, and Stallons said conversations with him helped sell him on attending Brescia.
Stallons is expected to be a main component on the 2020 Colonel baseball team that finished 17-15 last year and advanced to the region semifinals.
