
Christian County finished third at the Big School State Wrestling Duals Tournament Saturday at Lindsey Wilson College, losing in the semifinals by 10 points.
The Colonels opened with a 63-9 win over Fairdale in the first match of the day. They beat St. Xavier 58-9 in their other pool match.
Ryle took down the Colonels 36-26 thanks to their wins in the lower weight classes.
Christian County defeated Oldham County 51-15 in the third place match. Ryle won the state duals title, edging Johnson Central 30-27 in the championship match.
Colonel wrestlers who went 4-0 on the day were:
Gage Fowler (113), Jakerion Merritt (145), Neal Aldridge (160), A.J. Harvey (195), Niko Bussell (220), and TyDarius Kelly (HWT).
Mason Kellett (132), Austin Grant-Hall (138), J.T. Adams (170), and Ethan Wells (120) all went 3-1 on the day, while Cameron Coleman won two matches at the 182-pound level.
