Union College will have a ‘Lack Attack’ on the defensive side of the football in the foreseeable future. Hopkinsville football twin brothers Hayden and Conner Lackey made their college choice known 14 minutes apart on social media Sunday.
The Lackeys were among the tackle leaders for the Hopkinsville during the 2019 football season. Conner had 63 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and four forced fumbles. Hayden had 50 total tackles and led the Tiger defense with 10 tackles for loss and five sacks. Conner also received the Captains Award at the Tiger team banquet. Both brothers were also named to the All-Western Kentucky Conference Team.
Union College is an NAIA school located in Barbourville. They struggled to an 0-11 record in 2019 but have recruited the state hard in trying to get some of the state’s best talent in hopes of rebuilding the program to prominence.
The Lackeys join fellow Hoptown senior JeVon Leavell (Lindsey Wilson) in taking the next football step to college. Several other Tigers have received college offers and should make their decisions public in the coming weeks and months.
