Heritage Christian Academy completed the season sweep of Somerset Christian Saturday with a 42-40 road win in Somerset.
Abbi Bullock’s 17 points were key for the Lady Warriors, who trailed 13-8 after one quarter. Bullock and Logan Gibson each scored six points in the second quarter the Lady Warriors outscored Somerset 14-6.
HCA was able to hold off Somerset Christian rallies by hitting 6-of-11 free throws in the game.
In addition to Bullock’s 17 points, Gibson had 10 points and seven rebounds. Hallie Zieg scored seven points and pulled down nine rebounds, and Meredith Crunk had seven steals and four assists to go with her four points.
Ali Ricks scored eight of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter for Somerset Christian.
Heritage Christian improved to 2-4 in KCAA play, while Somerset dropped to 2-5. HCA was the No. 6 team in the latest KCAA Power Poll, while Somerset was No. 7.
HCA will travel to North Hardin Christian Tuesday for another KCAA contest with the third-ranked Lady Falcons.
