VIDEO – Plumb Wrestling for Her Father, Brother at State

1-31-plumb

Ella Plumb began wrestling at Fort Campbell at the urging of her father.  Shortly before the start of her first year on the mat in 2018, Ella’s father Ssg. Jason Plumb died of a heart attack during a PT exercise.  He was 41.  Plumb thought about giving up the sport before finishing her first season.  However, her older brother Evan and Falcon Coach Anthony Shingler encouraged Ella to continue wrestling.

After winning two matches at last year’s inaugural girls’ state wrestling tournament, Plumb is ready to reach the podium this weekend at the girls’ state tourney in Lexington.  In her father’s absence, Ella gets training tips from Evan, who is in basic training, in the mail.  Ella looks to step up her offense on the mat this weekend as she looks to reach her goal of placing at state.
