Another Hopkinsville Tiger to play a significant role in the recent success of the Hopkinsville boys soccer program has announced his decision to continue his athletic career on the collegiate leve. Tyler Greenwell tweeted out Monday morning that he would be going to Lindsey Wilson College, in Columbia, to play both soccer and run track for the Blue Raiders.
In his three years on the boys varsity soccer team at Hopkinsville, Greenwell played in 73 games. Greenwell scored 41 goals and had 13 assists. He scored 16 of those goals in his junior season, helping the Tigers reach the state semifinals.
During the 2019 track season, Greenwell was named to the All-Area Class 3A Second Team for long jump and triple jump.
At the 2019 state track meet, Greenwell was part of the Tiger 4×200 relay team that finished 10th and the 4×100 relay team that finished 11th.
