Maroons’ Hightower Declares for Eastern Kentucky

One of the state’s top running backs has announced his decision of where he would continue his career on the collegiate level. In a tweet Tuesday afternoon, Madisonville’s Jeriah Hightower stated he was committing to play college football at Eastern Kentucky University.

During his senior season for the Maroons, Hightower helped to lead Madisonville to the Class 4A semifinals, where the Maroons were upended by eventual state champion Johnson Central.

In the 2019 season, Hightower rushed for 3,001 yards on 348 carries, in 14 games, with 33 rushing touchdowns. He also caugh six passes for 81 yards.

His junior year, Hightower had 1769 yards, on 251 carries, in 13 games. He also rushed for 23 touchdowns. Hightower added two pass receptions for 21 yards.

As a sophomore in 2017, Hightower finished the season with 233 carries for 1528 yards, and 15 touchdowns.
