Two key members of Madisonville’s region champion football team were named to the Associated Press All-State Football Team Wednesday.

Jeriah Hightower was named to the First Team as a running back, while Blake Moody was named to the Second Team as an offensive lineman.

Hightower, a senior, rushed for 3,001 yards and 33 touchdowns in helping Madisonville win their first region football title in 48 years and reach the state semifinals.  He is one of eight running backs in state history to rush for 3,000 yards in a season.  He committed to Eastern Kentucky University this week.

Moody has committed to Murray State after leading a Maroon offensive line that helped pave the way for over 6,000 yards of offense and 37 points a game.
