Hardison’s 8 Threes Help Carry Logan Past Todd Central

To say the Logan County Cougars are having a good season in the 4th Region might be understating it a bit. The Cougars picked up their 21st win on the season Saturday, going on the road and taking down Todd County Central 81-45 in a 13th District contest. Logan County is now 12-0 against 4th Region competition and 6-0 against teams from the 13th District.

The game was almost over before it really got going. Led by the play of senior Jay Hardison, the Cougars jumped out to a 23-8 lead after the first eight minutes of the game. Hardison score 12 points in the opening quarter on four made 3-pointers.

Hardison and his teammates did not cool down much in the second quarter either. Hardison made two more three pointers, giving him six in the half, as Logan County extended the lead to 41-22 at the half.

Hardison kept up the long distance attack for Logan County in the 3rd quarter. He made two more threes, upping his total on the night to eight, as the Cougar offense kept on keeping on. The quarter ended with the Cougar lead at 60-35.

Logan County reserves saw extensive action in the final quarter, as the Cougars pulled on out for the 36 point win.

The Rebels got solid efforts from Preston Moore and Deonte Toliver. Moore finished the game with 12 points, while Toliver added 11. Dominique Morrow ended up with 7 points. Austin Rager scored six for the Rebels.

Jay Hardison was the top scorer in the game, ending up with 28 points, including 8 made 3-pointers. Dalton Thompson, Anthony Woodard, and Nathan Vick, all scored 10 points for the Cougars.

Todd Central falls to 5-18 with the loss, while Logan County moves to 21-3 on the season with the win.
