Logan County Hands Lady Rebels District Loss

Offensive struggles continued to plague the Todd County Central Lady Rebels Saturday evening. The Logan County defense held the Lady Rebels to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters as the Lady Cougars rolled to a 62-34 win in Elkton.

Logan County took control of the contest early on. The Lady Cougars outscored the Lady Rebels 16-6 in the opening quarter. Logan limited Todd Central to one 3-pointer, one 2-pointer, and one free throw in the first eight minutes. Addie White had a good start for the Lady Cougars, knocking down two threes in the quarter.

Led by the play of Emoni Fort, the Lady Rebels battled to stay in the contest in the second quarter. Fort came up with six points in the quarter. Still, the Lady Cougars were able to extend the lead to 31-17 at the half.

With Addie White knocking down two more threes, Logan County took the Lady Rebels out of the game in the third quarter. The Lady Cougar defense limited Todd Central to just nine points in the quarter as the lead grew to 49-26.

Logan County’s defense continued to be the story of the game in the final quarter. The Lady Cougars held the Lady Rebels to just eight points over the final 8 minutes as they rolled on out to the final 28 point margin.

Todd Central was led by Abby Williams and Jordan Weathers, who each finished with 8 points. Emoni Fort added six for the Lady Rebels.

Peyton Vanzant led all scorers in the game with 16 points for Logan County. Addie White knocked down five 3-pointers for 15 points. Kennedy Nichols finished with 8 points for Logan County.

Logan County improves to 11-13 with the win, while the Lady Rebels fall to 2-18.
