A former UHA Blazer has received what is likely the first of many honors in his collegiate basketball career. With his contribution on the court increasing over the past few weeks, Xavier freshman KyKy Tandy was named Monday as the Big East Freshman of the Week.
Over the past week, Tandy averaged 11.0 points per game in wins over DePaul and Providence. He shot 53.8 percent from the field, including 3-of-6 from behind the 3-point line. Tandy also went 5 of 5 at the free throw line.
Tandy has scored in double figures in four of his last six games. He has upped his average to 6.1-points pe game for the Musketeers.
