Fort Campbell’s Jesus Avila captured 4th place at the Region 1 wrestling tournament on Saturday, booking his spot at the state tournament for the third-straight season. Wrestling at 195lbs., Avila’s finish could have been much different, with his first loss coming via tiebreaker and the second a sudden-victory setback in the 3rd/4th place match.
Afterward, Avila said that with his previous experience at the state tournament, he expects to make his mark as a senior.
