Ben Huber to Return for Hoppers in 2020

The Hoptown Hoppers have announced the first 10 players that will be on their 2020 baseball roster, and one of them is a returning player from 2019.

Limestone College sophomore Ben Huber returns to the Hoppers in 2020.  Huber hit .333 with three home runs and 22 RBIs last year.

Two 2020 Hoppers played for a pair of former Hoptown head coaches.

Other Hopper players announced were:

Gerardo Sepulveda is a redshirt sophomore catcher for the Ranger Junior College Rangers in Ranger, Texas.  He is 6’ tall and weighs 225 pounds. His hometown is Laredo, Texas.

Robert Sproul is a redshirt freshman outfielder for the Bellarmine University Knights in Louisville, Kentucky. He is 6’ tall and weighs 175 pounds. His hometown is Louisville, Kentucky.

Dawson Barnes is a freshman outfielder for the Young Harris College Mountain Lions in Young Harris, Georgia. He is 6’ 3” tall and weighs 210 pounds. His hometown is Gray, Georgia.

Omar Danals is a freshman infielder for the Georgia Highlands College Chargers in Rome Georgia. He is 5’ 8” tall and weighs 160 pounds. His hometown is Lawrenceville, Georgia. He plays under assistant coach Brock Moss (former head coach of the Hoppers) at Georgia Highlands.

John Carpinelli is a junior infielder for the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is 6’ 3” tall and weighs 195 pounds. He is from Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Barkley “Scooter” Ray is a sophomore catcher/utility for the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters in Harrogate, Tennessee. He is 6’2” tall and weighs 205 pounds. His hometown is Chesterfield, Virginia.

Kevin Black is a freshman southpaw pitcher and outfielder for the Wharton Junior College Pioneers in Wharton Texas. He is 6’ tall and weighs 185 pounds. He is from Bellville, Texas. His head coach at Wharton is former Hoptown Hopper skipper Trey Porras.

Noah Kandel is a freshman right handed pitcher for the Tiffin University Dragons in Tiffon, Ohio. He is 6’ 6” tall and weighs 200 pounds. He is from Canton, Ohio.

Jason Boulanger is a sophomore left handed pitcher for the Rend Lake College Warriors in Ina, Illinois. He is 5’ 9” tall and weighs 165 pounds. His hometown is Rockwood, Ontario, Canada.

 

The Hoppers are expected to announce more players from their roster in two weeks.
