With a coin toss determining the top seed for the girls’ tournament, the pairings for the 8th District tournaments are now set. The coaches and athletic directors from the four schools involved gathered Friday morning to officially lay out the plans for this year’s tourney, which will be played at Christian County High School.
Hopkinsville won the coin toss to determine the girls’ top seed for the tournament. The Lady Tigers will take on #4 seed Fort Campbell Monday, February 24, at 6:00pm. The second game of the night that evening will find the #2 seed Christian County Lady Colonels squaring off against #3 seed University Heights. The girls championship game is set for Wednesday, February 26, at 7pm.
On the boys side, #1 seed University Heights will take on #4 seed Fort Campbell at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 25. The second game of the evening will find #2 seed Christian County taking on #3 seed Hopkinsville. The boys 8th District championship game is set for Thursday, February 27, at 7pm.
Tickets for the tournament will be $7 and $5. Coaches cards will not be accepted at the gate for the tournament.
The winners and runner-ups of each tournament will advance on to the 2nd Region tournaments. This year’s boys’ regional will be played at Hopkinsville, with the girls’ regional to be played at Christian County.
