Caldwell’s Girls Fall Just Short at Ohio County

Down double figures in the second half, Caldwell County’s girls made a late run at Ohio County on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers got to within three before the Lady Eagles held on for a 62-59 victory.

It was Caldwell’s fourth game in six days, including a 58-34 win over Trigg County on Friday night.

The Lady Tigers, now 14-12, led 14-12 after one quarter before the 3rd Region school got to halftime with a 30-27 advantage.

Ohio (16-11) led 48-41 through three quarters while claiming its sixth straight victory.

Rain Embry had 17 points for the Lady Eagles while Kelsey Kennedy scored 15 and Addie Bullock added 10.

Jacey Jaggers tallied 20 points and Bella McConnell scored 19 for the Lady Tigers.
Caldwell had won three straight games.

The Lady Tigers will visit the 1st Region on Tuesday to play McCracken County before finishing the regular season on Friday by hosting Livingston Central.

Caldwell’s girls need one win next week to secure a winning season in head coach Chuck Mitchell’s first season on the Lady Tiger bench.
