Christian County Coach Robert Burnham was given the Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year Award Saturday at the KHSAA State Tournament.

The Colonels finished second at the state tourney, their best finish since winning the state title in 1988.  Christian County had three Colonels wrestle for a state title with Niko Bussell winning the championship in the 220-pound class.

The Colonels also had nine wrestlers reach the awards podium – the most under Burnham.  Christian County also set a new school record with 200.5 points at the state tournament.
