Berea freshman guard Aaliyah Hampton has been named the USA South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
The former Christian County Lady Colonel is just the second player in USA South Women’s Basketball history to win both awards in the same year. She also is the first Berea women’s basketball student-athlete to collect an individual end of the year USA South honor in the program’s short time within the League.
Hampton leads the conference in scoring (20.5 ppg.) and free throws made (142). She is also averaging 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
She was named to the USA South First-Team All-Conference and All-West Division teams as well as League Rookie of the Week three times this season.
