The Webster County Trojans came from behind to take the lead in the 4th quarter and then held off the UHA Blazers at the wire to pick up a 69-68 win Thursday night in Dixon. The Blazers again played without one starter in the contest, that being D.J. Quarles, who continues to be out following an injury he sustained in practice two weeks ago.

The Trojans entered the final quarter trailing by five points at 57-52. Following a technical foul on UHA coach Grant Shouse, Webster County used a 9-0 run to take a 61-58 lead inside the final five minutes of the game. In an indication of how intense the game was coming down the stretch, both coaches were assessed technicals in the final quarter.

The Trojan lead would grow to five points at 66-61 with less than 90 seconds to go. The Blazers fought back and closed to within one point on a K.J. Crump three pointer with just over 11 seconds to go in the game. Webster County would miss a chance to extend the lead with 1.3 seconds to go, but the Blazers were unable to take advantage of the opportunity as the Trojans held on for the nail-biting win.

UHA lead through most of the night. The Blazers were up 21-13 after the opening quarter. The Blazers would head to the locker room at the break holding a 34-31 lead.

K.J. Crump had another big night for the Blazers finishing with 28 points. Amani McGee finished with 17.

Webster County’s Tyler Camplin led all scorers with 29 points. Destin Allen ended up with 14 points. Hunter McNaughton also reached double figures with 11.

With the loss, UHA finishes the regular season at 14-12. The Blazers open district play against Fort Campbell Tuesday night at 6:00pm at Christian County High School.

Webster County moves to 23-5, and will open 6th District play Monday night in Dixon when they host Union County.
