Despite battling injuries seemingly all season, Caldwell County’s girls will have a winning record in 2019-20.

The Lady Tigers finished the regular season by beating Livingston Central 57-37 Friday night at the CAB gym in Princeton.

Caldwell is now 15-13 heading into Monday’s 7th District tournament matchup against Hopkins County Central in Madisonville.

Friday’s game featured the return of Caldwell senior Jada Boyd to the court, if only briefly.

Livingston allowed Caldwell to win the opening tip so it could get the ball to Boyd, who has missed the second half of the season with a knee injury, for an uncontested basket on Senior Night.

In the excitement, Boyd missed the shot. However, the Lady Cardinals’ Kerah Davidson grabbed the rebound and gave the ball back to Boyd, who made good on her second attempt.

The game was stopped so that Boyd could be removed from the lineup.

Caldwell then surrendered an easy basket to Livingston to even the score.

The Lady Cardinals (5-18) led early in the contest before Caldwell got to the end of the first period with a 13-10 advantage.

The Lady Tigers extended their lead to 23-14 at halftime and slowly added to the margin in the second half, with 20 points being the largest lead of the contest.

Senior Bella McConnell led the Lady Tigers with 17 points. Majah Hollowell scored 13 while senior Lucy Goffinet had 10.

Lauren Wring topped the Livingston scoresheet with 14 points.
The Lady Cardinals will play Monday night in the 5th District tournament in Eddyville.
