A strong second half effort wasn’t enough for Heritage Christian Academy as the Lady Warriors lost to Oak Ridge Christian 43-32 Saturday in the KCAA Region 1 championship.
HCA trailed 28-10 at halftime but outscored the defending KCAA state runner-up 9-5 in the third quarter and 13-10 in the fourth quarter for the final margin.
Hallie Zieg just missed a double-double for HCA with eight points and 10 rebounds. Kinley Deason scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Deason and Meredith Crunk were named to the Region 1 All-Region Team for the Lady Warriors. HCA will learn their first round state tournament opponent this week.
