Lyon County’s girls mounted a big rally at Hopkins County Central Thursday night to take the lead late in the fourth quarter.
However, the Lady Storm pulled out a 59-58 victory when Madison Grigg hit a long 3-pointer with just 4.4 seconds to play.
Lyon got a good look at a 3 of its own at the final horn, but couldn’t convert.
While a disappointing setback, Lyon head coach Jeff Doom said the tight battle should be beneficial for his squad, which enters 5th District tournament play on Monday against Trigg County.
Doom spoke with Your Sports Edge following Thursday’s game at Mortons Gap.
