Lady Blazers Finish Fifth at Class A State Indoor Meet

University Heights Academy finished in fifth place at the Girls’ Class A Indoor State Track and Field Championships at Mason County Saturday.

UHA had four athletes bring home top-five finishes in their events.  As a team, UHA totaled 38 points.  St. Henry took first with 117 points, followed by Collegiate (77), Dayton (51), and Lloyd Memorial (40).

 

Meghan Adams – first in the shot put (31-00.50)

Kate Cansler – third in the 400-meter dash (1:08); 11th in the 55-meter dash (8.19)

Piper Hancock – fourth in the 800-meter run (2:42)

Jaila Batey – fifth in the shot put (27-11); 32nd in the 55-meter dash (8.87)

Aliviah Acree – sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:11.01); 13th in the long jump (10-02.50); 16th in the 55-meter dash (8.34)

Ragen Pollard – sixth in the shot put (24-08); 44th in the 55-meter dash (9.31)

Grace Pape – seventh in the 400-meter dash (1:11.85); eighth in the 800-meter run (2:57.24); 34th in the 55-meter dash (8.92)

Lily Hendricks – eighth in the long jump (12-10); 15th in the 55-meter dash (8.28)

Allison Bullen – ninth in the 400-meter dash (1:13.45); 11th in the 800-meter run (2:58.41); 25th in the 55-meter dash (8.74)

Sarah Covington – ninth in the 55-meter hurdles (12.37)

Julia Thomas – 14th in the 400-meter run (1:17.42)

Audrey Grise – 18th in the 55-meter dash (8.46)

The 1600-meter relay team finished second in the 4:43.54.
