For the first time since the 1990’s, the teams eligible for All A competition in Kentucky in 2020-2021 will also be the same teams eligible in 2021-2022. Officials with the All A Classic recently announced the list of schools that would be eligible for the All A Classic next school year, and at that same time announced that the list would also be applicable for a second season.
Officials with the All A Classic told YourSportsEdge.Com that back in the 1990’s they used a two year evaluation, but over the past couple of decades, the list of eligible schools had been reviewed annually.
The All A Classic is open to the 120 smallest schools in terms of enrollment figures across the state.
For the next two years, the eligible schools in the second region will not change. Caldwell County, Dawson Springs, Lyon County, Fort Campbell, University Heights, Livingston Central, and Crittenden County will be eligible for competition in all All A Classic sports.
Todd County Central remains one of seven eligible schools in the 4th Region.
Statewide, there were a handful of changes in eligible schools. In addition to some schools moving over from the KCAA, Bath County and Lloyd Memorial move off the list of eligible schools. Owen County moves onto the list. And, Washington County moves from the 12th Region in the All A Classic to the 5th Region, which is where the school is located in most of its KHSAA sports.
