Marshall County junior Zion Harmon made his college choice official Tuesday, ending months of speculation when he announced his commitment to Western Kentucky University in a video social media message.
Harmon had narrowed his choices to the Hilltoppers, Murray State, Kansas, Seton Hall, and Maryland. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 25.4 points for Marshall County in 2019-20 – his fourth school in as many seasons. He averaged 20 shots a game from the field, connecting on 44-percent. He knocked down 95 three-pointers and hit 33-percent behind the arc.
Harmon helped Bowling Green win a state title in his freshman season. He played at Adair County in 2018-19 before moving to Marshall County before his junior season. The Marshals were 23-11 and advanced to the First Region championship game.
Harmon is WKU’s first commitment for the 2021 class.
