When the Todd Central Rebels left the 2nd Region, they were on a solid run of contending for the regional title. Since their move to the 4th Region, contending for a chance to play in the Sweet 16 has been a bit of a difficult hill to climb.
The Rebels left the 2nd Region following the 1981-82 season. During their final three years in the region, the Rebels reached the championship game twice, winning the crown in 1981.
Upon the conclusion of the 1981-82 season, Todd Central was relocated to the 13th District, in the 4th Region. Since that move, the Rebels have made two trips to the 4th Region title game.
Todd Central did pick up its first 4th Region tournament win during its first year in the region. That win came in the form of a 58-53 victory over Bowling Green in the 1983 tourney.
However, it took the Rebels a while to reach their first 4th Region championship game. That apperance came in 1990. Todd Central opened the 4th Region tourney that year with a 79-75 win over Franklin-Simpson. The Rebels then advanced through the semifinals with a 82-63 win over Allen County-Scottsville. In the title game, the Rebels would face the Bowling Green Purples. The Rebels would battle, but come up just short of a trip to the Sweet 16, falling to Bowling Green 71-63.
It took 12 seasons for the Rebels to return to the 4th Region title game. In 2002, with Coach Dennis Pardue at the helm, Todd Central opened 4th Region tournament play with an 84-70 win over Monroe County. In the semifinas, the Rebels got a basket from Dustin Lopez in the final seconds to sneak by Glasgow 52-20. That win set up a championship game matchup with the Warren Central Dragons.
Again, the Rebels fought hard, but came up on the wrong side of the final score, falling to Warren Central 70-64. Todd Central finished that year at 23-8.
Since that time, Todd County Central has not returned to the 4th Region title. The Rebels have only been to the semifinals once since the 2002 season, that coming in 2018, when they were knocked out of the tournament by Bowling Green.
