A former Hopkinsville Tiger appeared to be on his way to a solid collegiate season when an injury cut his year short. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University sophomore C.J. Henagan started in the first 13 games of the year for the Eagles.
The season started off a bit slow for Henagan, but he appeared to be hitting his stride in the last six games leading up to his injury. After scoring 17 points in his first seven games, Henagan had begun to heat up as 2019 wound down, scoring 50 points in his last six outings.
His high game came December 14, when he tallied 15 points and 7 rebounds against Palm Beach Atlantic. Henagan also hit double figures in a November 30 game against Ave Maria. That game, Henegan finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds. His high game on the boards came November 20, when he pulled down 9 rebounds against Florida Southern.
At the time of his injury, Henagan was averaging 5.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest.
During his freshman year in 2018-2019, Henagan played in 29 games, averaging 5.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
At Hopkinsville High School, Hengan was named an All-Region and All-District player as a senior, averaging 11.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He also earned Academic All-State honors all four years of his prep career.
Hengan is majoring in Aerospace Physiology at Embry-Riddle.
