Lyon County’s Calista Collins had a sophomore season on the softball diamond that put her among the statewide leaders. She hit .566 with 15 home runs and 54 RBIs with 32 of her 60 hits going for extra bases. Collins earned All-State honors and was able to parlay her numbers into a commitment to Rutgers University.
Collins was expecting to add to her totals with another monster season but has been unable to take the field due to the KHSAA spring dead period. She is holding out hope she and her teammates will be able to have a 2020 softball season.
