Lele Rodgers
The second-leading scorer on the Lady Tigers’ career scoring list heads up the first team for the Caldwell County Girls’ All-Decade Basketball Team.
The first five also includes a pair of players from this past season who both reached 1,000 career points during the 2019-20 campaign.
The first team features Lele Rodgers, Bella McConnell, Jacey Jaggers, Casey Stone and McKenzie Ames.
Rodgers scored 1,682 points as a Lady Tiger from 2010-15. The only Caldwell player with more is Abbey Benton, who finished her playing days as a Lady Tiger with 2,001 points.
Rodgers is also ninth on Caldwell’s all-time rebounding list with 739 boards.
Rodgers went on to play four seasons at Brescia University, where she played under Caldwell grad Mike Gray.
Meanwhile, 2020 senior Bella McConnell finished in the Top 10 on the Lady Tigers’ all-time scoring list. McConnell’s 1,295 points put her right at No. 10.
McConnell led Caldwell in rebounding each of the past three seasons. She compiled 829 boards as a Lady Tiger — No. 6 on Caldwell’s career list.
Jaggers, a junior this past season, has another year to add to her 1,147 points. She is 16th on Caldwell’s career scoring list.
Stone is 19th on that scoring list with 1,039 points and is 11th all-time in rebounds with 638.
Stone, who was the 2nd Region volleyball Player of the Year during her senior season in 2010, went on to play college volleyball at St. Catharine College.
Ames, a guard, is 28th on Caldwell’s scoring list with 904 career points.
Here is the second five on the Lady Tigers’ All-Decade Team — Kaitlyn Gilkey, Jada Boyd, Tori Loomis, Jessie Stone and Camryn Clift.
Gilkey totaled 927 points as a Lady Tiger, still good enough for 25th on Caldwell’s career list.
Boyd finished her career with 820 points — 31st all-time — but missed the second half of her senior season due to a knee injury.
Loomis is 36th on the Caldwell list with 756 points. She went on to play college basketball at Shawnee.
Jessie Stone’s 641 points put her 41st on the all-time scoring list. Like her older sister, Stone was a two-sport star, twice being named the 2nd Region volleyball Player of the Year (2011, 2012).
Stone’s college volleyball career took her to Mid-Continent, St. Catharine and Campbellsville.
Clift scored 530 points and is 48th on the Lady Tigers’ all-time scoring list.
The All-Decade Team is for players who played in the 2010-11 season through this past season.
