The first of the decisions from University of Kentucky basketball players concerning their futures has been announced. In a tweet Sunday afternoon, sophomore point guard Ashton Hagans announced that he was leaving Kentucky after two seasons and declaring for the NBA Draft.
Hagans stated that after his second year at UK, he believes he has made the strides necessary to give him a chance to succeed at the next level.
He did express sadness that the Cats did not get the chance to compete for a national championship, but that he did understand why they did not get that chance.
In his just completed sophomore season, Hagans averaged 11.5 points, 6.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
