We continue rolling along with our All-Decade teams with the UHA Lady Blazers. There were tough decisions on this list, and there were really some talented players who were a part of the Lady Blazer program over the last decade.
FIRST TEAM
Meg Starling – Helped guide the Lady Blazers to a 71-19 record over her career, including a 25-4 mark her senior year. Named the Kentucky Region Player of the Year and an AP All-State Honorable Mention as a senior. Two-time All-District and All-Region honoree. She set a state record with 23 blocked shots versus Madisonville-North Hopkins on January 10, 2014. Helped guide the Lady Blazers to back-to-back 2nd Region championship game appearances as a junior and senior.
DeNayia Holmes – All-Region performer at University Heights Academy. Holmes tallied over 2,000 in her career while leading her team in assists. During her senior season in 2014-2015, Holmes averaged 16.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Lady Blazers. Suffered a knee injury in the district tournament during her senior year.
LeLe Grubbs – Named to the 2013, 2014, & 2015 2nd Region All-Region teams. Averaged 18,2 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Knocked down 52 3-pointers during her senior season for the Lady Blazers. Was a part of three straight 8th District championship teams.
Jordon Hornbuckle – Three year player for the Lady Blazers on the varsity level. Averaged a double-double in her senior season at UHA, with 17 ppg and 14 rpg. Also averaged a double-double in her junior season with 14.6 ppg and 10.0 rpg.
Demetria Snorton – Named AP Honorable Mention All-State during her senior season at University Heights. Helped lead UHA to back-to-back 2nd Region championship games, and 8th District titles her junior and senior seasons.
SECOND TEAM
Lily Hendricks – Six year player for the UHA Lady Blazers. Saw action in three games as a 7th grader. Averaged 5.4 ppg as a freshman; 12.2 ppg as a sophomore; 14.0 ppg as a junior; and 12.7 ppg in her final season in 2019-2020. Helped lead the Lady Blazers to the 2019 All A Classic state tournament.
Cache Richardson – Was named to the 2012 2nd Region All-Region team. Helped lead the Lady Blazers to the 2012 All A state tournament and the 2013 2nd Region championship game.
Anshanique Leavell – Named to the 2018 All 2nd Region Team during her senior season. Joined the 1,000 point club in February of 2018. Averaged 17.9 points during her senior season and 16.4 points her junior year for University Heights. Put up 14.8 points per contest in only 14 games during her sophomore season.
Meghan Adams – Multi-sport athlete for University Heights during her two years at the school. In her junior season on the basketball court, Adams averaged 10.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest, and helped lead the Lady Blazers to the All A state tournament. Averaged 9.8 points and 4.4 rebounds during her senior season.
Dannika Prater – Named All-Region for the 2011-2012 season at University Heights Academy. Helped to lead the Lady Blazers to the 2012 regional championship game. Also played an integral role in the Lady Blazers reaching the 2012 All A state tournament. Transferred to Christian County after her sophomore season.
