CLASS OF 2020 – Caldwell County’s Madi Choate

4-23-choate

With the spring sports season in the books prematurely, YourSportsEdge.com has reached out to coaches, and they have provided us with information and comments on their seniors.  We will be recognizing the Class of 2020 for the remainder of what would have been the spring sports season.

Madi Choate was a 6-year veteran of the Caldwell County Lady Tiger softball program. In what can be called a true utility player, Choate has played outfield and infield.  She was expected to take over third base this year after spending most of last year at first.  Choate has always had a positive attitude and gives 110% effort no matter where she is asked to go. On offense, she hits for power with an incredible exit speed off her bat.  As an 8th grader, she recorded the most doubles in a season for Caldwell Co.  The team was expecting big things offensively from Choate after getting votes for the pre-season watch list for All-Region.  Choate has been on the All District Academic Team from 2014-19, made the All District softball team in 2018 and 2019, and was named to the Region 2 All Tournament team in 2017.

Choate will be continuing her academic and athletic career this fall at Asbury University.  In preparation for her college career, she will be spending the summer with her nationally-ranked travel team, Extreme Elite 18U Gold.  Choate will be competing across the country and will participate in the prestigious Colorado and California softball tournaments before heading to college.
