Christian County, Hopkinsville High, and University Heights will join high schools across the state that are turning on the lights of their sports fields to honor the spring athletes who were not able to play in their senior seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, May 14 at 8pm, the lights at the baseball and softball fields at those schools will be turned on for 20 minutes at 20 seconds to recognize those athletes. Fans, family, and teammates are encouraged to honk their horns and show their support as they drive by the fields. However, people who attend will not be allowed to leave their vehicles.
