With the spring sports season in the books prematurely, YourSportsEdge.com has reached out to coaches, and they have provided us with information and comments on their seniors. We will be recognizing the Class of 2020 for the remainder of what would have been the spring sports season.
Belle Englebright is a member of the Caldwell County tennis team.
Englebright has already etched her name into the Caldwell County record book. 2020 was her time to extend her dominance and record a career-best finish at the state tournament.
The Caldwell County senior is a four-time region winner that includes a doubles win as an eighth grader and three straight individual titles.
“I’m not sure what all to say about her except her hard work and determination will go along way. She has been the No. 1 player the last several years and has played the last six years,” said first-year Caldwell County Coach Steve Kukahiko. “She has won the region the last three years, and one of her goals was to try to win a fourth in singles. She has qualified for state the last few years and finished in the top 16 last year. She was hoping to reach another goal this year by finishing higher than last year.”
She works on her game every chance she gets, plays in numerous tournaments during the summer and really just loves the game. She also has a 4.0 GPA to go along with all of this. I’m not sure her future plans in tennis, but I do know she is planning to attend the University of Kentucky and major in marketing,” Kukahiko said.
