
Matthias Ervin was Union County's second-leading rusher in football and a three-time state champion wrestler. He is also the Second Region Athlete of the Year.
Union County’s Matthias Ervin, who won a third straight state wrestling title in February, was named the Second Region Athlete of the Year by the region’s athletic directors.
Ervin is part of the Union County wrestling juggernaut that has won five straight state wrestling titles. He won the 285-pound title this year, pinning four of his five opponents.
Ervin, who has diagnosed with atypical autism as a small child, was also Union County’s second-leading rusher on the football team as a senior.
Matthias and his twin brother Micah will both attend the University of Chattanooga and wrestle for the Mocs.
