With the spring sports season in the books prematurely, YourSportsEdge.com has reached out to coaches, and they have provided us with information and comments on their seniors. We will be recognizing the Class of 2020 for the remainder of what would have been the spring sports season.
Hannah Sumner is a seven-year member of the Christian County softball team.
“She was the one pitcher for the 2019 season as a junior. She had a record of 25 wins and 4 losses and pitched the bulk of the innings with 169.1 innings pitched,” said Lady Colonel Coach Sheri Hancock. “She finished the year with 2.11 ERA. She gave up 41 walks and had 88 strikeouts. She is committed to Lindsey Wilson to play golf and is planning on majoring in math. Hannah is currently ranked second in the 2020 CCHS senior class.”
“Hannah has great command on the mound. She is able to locate her pitches well and throw them on any count. We were definitely looking for her to make an major impact this year as she would be expected pitch the big games,” Hancock said. “Hannah is also a leader off the field. Many of the younger players look to her for leadership and guidance.”
