Webster County High School has announced the 2020 Class for its Athletic Hall of Fame.

This year’s inductees are Keith Farrell (honorary), Duane Bolin (player) and the WCHS 2001 Baseball Team.

Farrell is the former radio play-by-play voice for Webster County basketball and football games.

He began broadcasting sporting events for both Webster County and Providence High School in 1980. Providence closed in 2007, but Farrell continued to call Trojan games through 2013. Most recently, Farrell has been the public address voice for Webster football and basketball.

Bolin is a 1974 graduate of Webster County. He is a former basketball standout for the Trojans and went on to play college basketball at Belmont University in Nashville, where he was a co-captain his senior year.

Bolin later became a history professor at Murray State University, where he taught a class on the history of Kentucky sports.

The 2001 Webster baseball team went 21-15 and reached the state semifinals before bowing to Louisville Ballard 10-6 at Cliff Hagan Stadium in Lexington.

It was the start of an impressive three-year run for the Trojan baseball program, which returned to the state semifinals in 2002 and reached the state quarterfinals in 2003.

Those teams were coached by Scott Willard, who is now the baseball head coach at Scott County.
