With the spring sports season in the books prematurely, YourSportsEdge.com has reached out to coaches, and they have provided us with information and comments on their seniors.  We will be recognizing the Class of 2020 for the remainder of what would have been the spring sports season.

Keegan Slone is a member of the Trigg County High School baseball team.

“Keegan was a player for me who played primarily JV ball for three years. He came off the bench and pitched and played utility for us last year, going in when needed in the outfield, courtesy running, or hitting. He eventually worked himself into the DH role towards the end of the season last year and made a little noise,” said Trigg County Coach Tyler Magan.  “Not playing any other sports, he is able to dedicate himself year-round to getting in cuts and working in the weight room.”

“If you watch his interview from the night we did our 2020 Senior “Be the Light” night, he mentions working in the off season when we do our weight training and conditioning starting in the fall, leading into our winter work outs, and then spring we start playing. Keegan was there for all of those things and was putting in hard work along the way. Keegan is always one I have to run out of the building because he is always wanting to get more work in even after our team workouts are over. Almost every time I am able to stay after a practice, he is there getting in cuts and working,” Magan said.

“Keegan was set to be our leadoff hitter and start in left field for us this year, as well as being in the top of our pitching rotation. We had been working on what it meant to be a lead off and his role in the lineup. He was very excited about it and was willing to take on that role. Keegan is also a special kid because of his willingness to work and be a role model for younger players. Keegan has the natural gift of being able to work with younger players and I think will eventually get into coaching. I would be happy to have him as part of the staff when the time comes.”
