The Planters Bank Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex Hopkinsville has opened with a limited schedule and a few different rules as they work to meet the state’s Healthy at Work guidelines.
Chris Jung is the marketing director for the Sportsplex and says the COVID-19 pandemic forced a shutdown of the facility until the state allowed them to reopen Monday.
Jung says walkers will be able to use the sportsplex in the morning hours so long as they meet the requirements set by the state.
Jung says certain facilities at the sportsplex will be open in the afternoon and evening but they aren’t allowed to rent any equipment out to users for the time being.
While Jung says the pandemic caused the cancellations of several big events planned for the spring and summer, they are holding out hope they can still keep some previously scheduled events in late July, August, and September.
