One of the youth golf tours in Kentucky has announced the decision to delay the start of its events until late June. According to a statement issued Thursday, the Kentucky Junior PGA tour has postponed play until June 29.

In a statement, the Kentucky Junior PGA tour states a misunderstanding of the state guidelines as the decision to postpone the beginning of play. Officials also added that they reached out to numerous city governments and county health departments to see if junior golf could be exempted from the rules. They went on to say that their requests were repeatedly denied.s

The announcement is somewhat of a surprise, being as that the GO Series, and the Bluegrass Golf Tour have already played several events across the state.

The Kentucky Junior PGA Tour had been scheduled for a stop in Paducah on June 15-16.

The 2020 season will now begin with the Kentucky Junior PGA Championships in Richmond.
